Academic Advising Overview for Dietetics Transfer (DIET.AS) Majors

The Academic Advising Center is undertaking a new project which will allow students to receive an overview of the requirements of their declared major. In so doing, the Center hopes to utilize the electronic resources at its disposal to provide our students with the best possible academic advising as efficiently as possible. This Electronic Advising Packet is for Dietetics-Transfer (DIET.AS) majors.

HRI 103--Principles of Food Selection and Preparation
HRI 105--Basic Nutrition
HRI 208--Food Service Sanitation

BIO 123--General Biology I (prerequisite of one year of high school laboratory biology or BIO 010 and one year of high school laboratory chemistry or CHM 020)

ENG 122--English Composition II (prerequisite of ENG 121)
HRI 108--Quantity Food Production (prerequisite of HRI 103)
BIO 124--General Biology II (prerequisite of BIO 123)
SOC 121--Introduction to Sociology
CSC 106--Intermediate PC Application with Programming (prerequisite of CSC 105 or 107 or one year of high school computer applications or programming course and MAT 014)

HRI 213--Food Service Systems Management in Dietetics
CHM 121 and 125 (prerequisite of MAT 014 and one year of high school laboratory chemistry or CHM 020)
MAT 129--Precalculus (prerequisite of MAT 014)
PSY 123--Introductory Psychology
PED or HED--Physical Education or Health Education Elective

HRI 205--Food and Beverage Controls and Purchasing (prerequisite of HRI 103)
HRI 218--Nutrition Throughout the Life Span (prerequisite of HRI 105)
CHM 122 and 126 (prerequisite of CHM 121 and 125)
BIO 211--Principles of Microbiology (prerequisite of one year of high school laboratory biology or BIO 010 and one year of high school laboratory chemistry or CHM 020)
